Jean Buscher - A sense of tradition

Since the year 1844 when the winery was founded by Heinrich Buscher, his descendants, Jean Buscher, Hans Buscher (in the picture), Jean Michael Buscher and Jean Raphael Buscher have all shared a strong sense of tradition.

Far underneath the ground, our ancient vaults contain evidence of high wine culture. Old oak casks give our red wines their characteristic maturity. Carefully locked away in our treasure store, unique wine gems like Grandfather Jean‘s “Comet Wine” from the year 1911 are slumbering. This wine, with its beautiful special label, was named after Halley’s Comet which can only be seen every 76 years (last seen in 1910 and 1986).
